Partners

Funding entities and land trusts work with GRCL to develop conservation easement projects that fulfill the needs of landowners.  Our conservation work would not be possible without their involvement.

Funding Partners:

We have secured grants for conservation easements and associated costs from many funders over the past 30 years.  Recently most of the funding comes from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.  This federal agency has an effective Agricultural Conservation Easement Program that is especially appropriate for rangelands and grasslands in the Gunnison Country.

Land Trusts:

GRCL works with a number of land trusts.  Each landowner selects the land trust for their conservation easement.  Since our role is to represent landowners, GRCL does not hold easements.  Our land trust partners are responsible for the monitoring and enforcement of easement terms in perpetuity.
